Sun Spring

You can now purchase the Album Sun Spring here Sun Spring !!! This collection of songs is a reflection of thoughts about how insignificant we are sitting here on this planet called earth circling around a star which is a spec in the universe. Why were we brought here? I often wonder what music is when a musician is able to tap into the universal energy. I asked Michio Kaku the Quantum Physicist, “What is the frequency of the universe?” He said, “ It is very low”. Haha! This album was also a result of hearing many of the fusion bands in the 80s like the Mahavishnu Orchestra, Weather Report, the Eleven House, Return to Forever, and many more. I was hearing music that grabbed the spirit of the 80s fusion in a contemporary setting.

1. Sun Spring This is an ode to the sun. The purveyor of life. All life springs from the energy that the sun brings us. Many cultures through millennium have worshiped the sun. I features Masaru Koga on Tenor sax and a ride by Philip Woo.

2. Moon Space Moon Gazing on a hot summer night with your fav! Features Masaru on Suprano Sax

3. The H Mann This is a song dedicated to Harry Mann composer, musician, and actor better know as the H-Mann. Harry emigrated from San Francisco to New York City in the 80s to help the playwright Peter Coyote open in the Public Theatre. At the age of 86 yrs he still is acting and playing in plays. It features Philip on a beautiful piano solo!
